Taline Norsigian

Discipline and date of your BA or BS degree: B.S. in Global Public Health and Psychology, St. Lawrence University ‘2023
What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: I have always had a passion for human rights, and in university, I learned the importance of public health in combating health inequities from a holistic perspective. After spending a year interning in Armenia, I realized I wanted to continue advocating in the public health space, and I appreciate the interdisciplinary nature of UConn’s MPH program.
Background: I am a third-generation Armenian-American. I grew up in Connecticut, but I have visited Armenia many times as I got older. I am passionate about the right to health, activism, journalism, photography, and human rights.
Life Outside Work and School: I enjoy taking photos and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy hiking, biking, and listening to music.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: I am interested in working at the state level as a project manager for various health programs or in the nonprofit sector for refugee health initiatives.
