Discipline and date of your BA or BS degree: Nursing 2008
What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: The MPH program at UCONN focuses on interdisciplinary teamwork which is vital to the improvement of the United States healthcare system and community health.
Background: I have been a nurse for 16 years and have worked in healthcare for 20 years. The majority of my career has been as an Intensive Care nurse. I have worked at the Connecticut Poison Control Center since 2019.
Life Outside Work and School: I am a mother of twins and I myself am a twin! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, exercising, and am a novice gardener.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: Continue providing excellent service to the people that call into the poison control center. I am due to recertify my certification in poison information via the AAPCC in 2027. I am a part time student and so the goal over the next 4 years is to learn as much as I can and apply it to practice.
