What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: The first hand experiences of facing health disparities as an immigrant sparked my interest in Public Health.
Background: I was born in Bangladesh and moved to CT when I was 5 years old. I am the oldest of two daughters.
Life Outside Work and School: I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially in parks and beaches. I love reading but have been in a bit of a slump recently. I can’t go a day without listening to music.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: I currently work at the Social Security Administration. I hope to gain more knowledge about intervention programs through this MPH. With that knowledge, I’d like to work in the Dept of Public Health or CDC and actively try to implement programs that address disparities in health.
