Discipline and date of your BA or BS degree: Psychology BA 2018
What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: I chose to pursue a Master of Public Health because I am deeply interested in the intersection between public health initiatives aimed at the common good and the need to respect patient autonomy. I am particularly fascinated by the challenge of implementing health measures that benefit the broader community while still honoring individual patient choices, even when those choices may not align with optimal health outcomes. This delicate balance is crucial for developing effective and ethical public health policies, and I am eager to contribute to this field.
Background: I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA where I earned a BA in psychology. When I completed my degree I was unsure about my career goals and took some gap years to work as an EMT and Scribe where I reaffirmed my interest in medicine.
Life Outside Work and School: I like running, cycling and hanging out with friends.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: I hope to match into general surgery residency and then possibly a fellowship in vascular surgery.
