What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: I became interested in pursuing an MPH at UConn because their program allows you to explore all fields and aspects of public health without having to commit to a specific concentration or specialty. The program is also within close proximity to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center where I hope to continue doing research!
Background: At Trinity College where I received my bachelor’s in Neuroscience, I did research on with traumatic brain injury patients by working on their prospective memory. I also worked on a tablet based behavioral health screening study at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. This led to my interest in the public health field!
Life Outside Work and School: Outside of academics, I enjoy working as a barista to keep myself busy along with reading and watching films! I also love cooking new dishes!
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: I hope to pursue a career that allows me to work in youth injury or suicide prevention within hospital systems. I would also enjoy going into more research or academia!
