Discipline and date of your BA or BS degree: BS in Physiology & Neurobiology, University of Connecticut, May 2022
What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: As a medical student, I have learned a lot about providing direct care for patients. I have also learned about systemic challenges and disparities in health, which can be difficult for a clinician to address alone. With the experience of the MPH, I will have the tools to provide high quality care for my patients while also working to impact health on a larger scale.
Background: I grew up in Wilbraham, MA before attending UConn for my undergraduate degree in Physiology & Neurobiology. I fell in love with the field of medicine and found the UConn School of Medicine faculty to be incredible, so I continued my education at UConn Health pursuing an MD. I am excited to incorporate public health into my studies and career!
Life Outside Work and School: I enjoy being active by playing golf, tennis, and basketball, hiking, biking, and going to the gym. I love going to sports events and concerts and spending time with family and friends.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: Finish medical school and attend residency. I have not chosen my field yet, but I am excited to see where life takes me.
