What influenced your decision to pursue a Master of Public Health at UConn?: The political climate is showing me that I need ti stand up and help protect our rights to a healthy world. I will do this by learning more and applying my knowledge.
Background: I have a bachelors in political science from eastern Connecticut state university and a masters in public administration from northeastern university. In July I will begin a new full time job as a senior administrative analyst within the economic division of the department of development services at the city of Hartford.
Life Outside Work and School: I practice yoga as a certified 200 hour yoga instructor. I hike and camp with my husband and our dog. I am also an avid quilter and sewer. I love making Halloween costumes for my niece and nephew. Whenever I have any time left I love to read and listen to music.
Your immediate (next 1-5 years) career goals: I want to work in health equity using data to move resources to reach all people in need.
